Job Description:/h3:
Position Title: Industrial Health and Safety Technician
Department: Manufacturing Operations
Reports To: Engineering and Manufacturing Mgr.
Position summary:
The Industrial Health and Safety Technician works directly within the Manufacturing Operations department to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards. The technician must be able to work independently in a fast paced manufacturing environment. They are responsible for safety training, policy management, and standards enforcement.
Tasks:
:
Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure that they follow company and OSHA safety standards
:
Work with Management to identify and fix hazardous conditions or equipment
:
Evaluate and implement new and existing programs on workplace health and safety
:
Facilitate workplace safety training for employees
:
Demonstrate and enforce the correct use of safety equipment
:
Investigate incidents and accidents to identify what caused them and how they might be prevented
:
Orientate new employees about company safety standards
:
Manage the companys HazCom program
:
Other duties as assigned

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in warm/cold environments. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Education/Experience:
:
Bachelors degree in relevant area or equivalent on the job training and experience, technical certificate desired
:
5 years safety experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience
:
Proficiency with MS Office
:
Ability to compile clear, accurate, and grammatically correct reports and Health and Safety program protocols and procedures
Strong understanding of OSHA standards for general industry
