Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production and support equipment for the SSP and Bucket departments. Supervises the electrical and mechanical personnel across all shifts by planning and assigning work, adjusting schedules to support production needs while maintaining safety, hygiene and quality standards. Oversees all machine sub:assembly rebuilds and equipment preventive maintenance. Ensure that all product safety, quality and legality principles are understood, followed and met.
Day:to:Day Role::/h1:
:Supports plant and corporate safety efforts through monthly safety meetings, weekly Toolbox Talks, and safety audits.
:Reviews production requirements and coordinates with Department Production Manager and/or Supervisor to provide effective support for the department(s), making adjustments as needed.
:Coordinates all maintenance repair and PM activities.
:Supervises the maintenance employees activities including:
:Maintains daily maintenance records using EAM computerized maintenance system.
:Directs the maintenance employees on their daily requirements and assignments.
:Schedules maintenance employees vacation and arranges for vacation coverage.
:Directs the start of the shift making sure that all maintenance positions are covered and receives briefing from outgoing personnel.
:Provides technical maintenance and process support as the plants Subject Matter Expert to Dart Engineers and other resources for the facility in matters involving SSP and Buckets.
:Ensures proper functionality of all equipment. Assists and provides guidance to employees in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and creating solutions.
:Ensure staff is trained to the latest standards/methods.
:Serves as a resource and champion for the Operational Excellence Program and promotes a culture of employee involvement and continuous improvement. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and product quality. Also suggests changes in working conditions and the use of equipment to increase efficiency of staff and machinery.
:Plans and organizes current machine projects, tooling conversions and equipment testing.
:Drives effectiveness of the department through innovative performance management including employee coaching and conducting performance appraisals. Administers corrective action as required. Conducts orientation and formal / informal training programs. Analyzes and recommends staffing requirements. Also, recommends position qualifications and individuals for hire.
:Communicate all updates from personnel or upper management to maintenance employees.
:Will perform other duties as assigned.
Core Skills and Qualifications::/h1:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
:Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on:going communications about safety and quality issues.
:Five (5) years of experience in production maintenance required.
:Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role.
:Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and use measuring tools including micrometer, rule, dial calipers, etc.
:Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.
:Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
:Prior use of Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to review and analyze data
