Summary of Responsibilities:
Supervises and coordinates activities of production supervision and employees in multiple departments. This position is responsible for planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes ensuring goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality.
Primary Responsibilities:
Follows all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality and efficient operations.
Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines; set up production runs; run lines as required.
Works with teams in tearing down and rebuilding production lines.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Manages, directs and/or recommends measures to improve processes, production methods, equipment, performance, and quality of product in the departments.
Works with Research and Development to run equipment and/or product trials.
Partner with Sales organization to deepen customer relationships.
Ensure quality of each product being produced and shipped.
Supports initiatives or serves on project teams with other departments or areas of the business such as Safety, Operational Excellence, Customer Service, Sales, R and D, Engineering, Quality, Shipping, Maintenance, HR, etc.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
Confers with other
supervisors/managers to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Performs activities of employees supervised.
Continuous improvement recommendations and execution.
Responsible for metrics such as safety, up:time, and waste reduction
Manages other production supervisors.
Travel up to 10
Additional duties as assigned

Bachelors degree (B. S.) in Engineering or related field required and 5+ years of applicable manufacturing experience or a combination of education and experience. Extrusion or plastics experience a plus. Six Sigma experience preferred.

Required Skills:
Good written and verbal communication skills
Six Sigma / Lean training, knowledge and execution a plus
Must have experience in continuous improvement practices and analysis

Computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite
