This position supports our Paper Dinnerware department on 12:hour night shift.
Provides leadership, guidance and direction to employees working in a paper conversation and packaging department. Ensure that all product safety, quality and legality principles are understood, followed and met. Oversees operation to efficiently meet production schedules to support customer service requirements while maintaining safety, hygiene, quality and efficiency standards. Creates a positive work environment. Responsible for or provides recommendations for employment selection, corrective action, terminations, and performance evaluations.
:Monitor safety, quality, service and efficiency results for assigned operations. Addresses non:conformances concerning product safety, quality and legality. Elevates non:conformances where assistance is required.
:Reviews production requirements and implements and / or adjusts processes, staffing and schedules in order to meet goals. Analyzes and resolves problems or assists staff in solving problems.
:Maintains department production and sanitation records and ensures production employees are completing records correctly and in a timely manner.
:Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment efficiency, product quality and cost effectiveness. Suggests and implements changes in work methods and equipment improvements to support these noted areas.
:Drives effectiveness of department through innovative performance management. Coaches employees, conducts performance appraisals, administers corrective action, trains and develops staff. Conducts orientation and formal / informal training programs. Analyzes and recommends staffing requirements. Also, recommends position qualifications and individuals for hire.
:Writes and issues Standard Operating Procedures. Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations and procedures.
:In absence of higher management, determines when equipment should be shut down and manages emergency situations. Determines correct course of action.
:Conduct continuous improvement of work processes and cost savings through the application of lean manufacturing principles.
Core Skills and Qualifications::/h1:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
:Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on:going communications about safety and quality issues.
:H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required. College degree preferred but will consider an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
:Ability to work with individuals or groups.
:One (1) year supervisory or 2 year work lead/process lead experience in a manufacturing environment required. Prefer a high skill and knowledge level in he field of paper conversation processing.
:Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.
:Strong communication skills, leadership and organizational skills.
:Microsoft Word skills to include the ability to open, close, create, edit and save documents. Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create basic spreadsheets, open, close, edit, (e.g., cut, paste, insert and delete rows) and save spreadsheets. Email system (i.e., Microsoft Outlook) skills to include the ability to send, open and save attachments.
