Job Description
The Banquet Manager is responsible for ensuring proper set up and service of all banquet functions, supervising all banquet associates to ensure guest satisfaction, and maintaining service standards. This is a leadership role responsible for training of associates and delivering prompt, courteous service to professional, social, wedding and all catered events. The position includes both set:up of events and servicing of events. There is some AV requirements, but minimal in scope. In the lull of the off:season for Banquets, or periods of time where functions are not being hosted, the Banquet Manager will assist and provide support to the Director of Restaurants in the restaurant outlets.
This position reports to the Director of Restaurants.
* 3 plus years of previous Banquet experience is desirable in hotel setting. We are seeking an individual who is creative, organized, great with people and has a strong knowledge of banquet service.
* High School Degree or Equivalent; Some College Preferred.
* Exceptional people skills preferred.
* Must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform professionally across a broad spectrum of clientele
* Computer skills required
* Represents management at functions.
* Determines set:ups in conjunction with Catering Sales Manager
* Coordinates functions with service staff, Chef and Catering Sales Manager that guest satisfaction is achieved through effective supervision and delegation of functions, checks on food quality and courteous performance of entire banquet staff.
* Briefs servers and bartenders on functions and procedure of service.
* Establishes high standards of quality service and maintains them through effective training and continuous upgrading.
* Maintains the equipment entrusted to his/her care and keeps pars up.
* Maintains records, reports and payroll costs.
* Inspects function rooms and writes work orders for the Engineering Department to maintain rooms in excellent condition.
* Conscious of business fluctuations and attends weekly BEO Meetings to coordinate departments efforts
Assists in the restaurant outlets on an as needed basis or during the lull of the season for Banquets.
