TH Easter Consulting has been retained to find a Tax Director for one of our Top Delaware Energy Clients. Reporting to the Controller, the Tax Director will manage the Tax team and lead corporate tax department with primary responsibility for overseeing the US income tax reporting, short and long term tax planning and tax modeling, tax compliance, corporate tax accounting, commodity taxes and tax auditing. The Tax Director will actively participate in all tax issues impacting the business, including mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, regulatory matters and all strategic tax planning issues, including hybrid financial instruments, and hybrid entities. Together with the Controller, the Tax Director will also have primary responsibility for managing external tax relationships including external auditors, advisors and taxation authorities.Job Functions: . Oversight of Accounting for Income Taxes for financial reporting purposes (quarterly and annual reporting of tax provision) including research, and computations, deferred tax analysis, disclosures etc. to ensure compliance with US GAAP . Oversee the US tax compliance function . Manage information for the compilation of annual transfer pricing documentation . Deal with external parties (auditors, government) . Manage information for the preparation of all required tax returns . Manage information flow for all direct and indirect tax audits and quantify exposures ofPlanning and Strategy . Identify tax issues and trends that may impact business activities and proactively work to reduce company risk, Compliance . An integral member of the finance team in terms of tax planning for acquisitions, reorganizations, etc. . Support corporate growth initiatives and provide strategic tax analysis and recommendations as it relates to tax issues impacting the business . Effectively communicate tax positions and strategies to company executives . Work with treasury on tax efficient financing structures and development of resources . Provide input related to tax for long term planning and acquisition modeling scenarios . Research and develop tax-saving strategies Minimum Qualifications: . Bachelor's degree in Accounting . Professional accounting designation (CPA/ CA) . 10+ years of Tax Utility experience leading a team . Strong strategic thinker, growth-orientation and a drive for continuous learning . Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills . Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment . Prior experience with M&A related tax structuring . Experience working for a publicly traded company . Experience leading/managing through organizational growth phases . Strong supervisory skills - able to lead and mentor effectively .
